Most of the thread just makes me feel old..

WindowsME was what made me switch to Linux.. Sure there has been a windows box around here and there for gaming mostly.. Now with anything I want to play working on Linux, no need for 11

Today I can just give a store like droid store permissions.. In future it will require 24h.. Or ot install with adb.. This is a big step backwards.

That said I've concluded the phone is now a device for accessing approved things.. For things I own its Linux PC/laptop/mini laptop acting like a table.. I guess my supernote reader is an android 8 device but its more limited use cases and they are going back to Linux too...

The phone is work access, bank access, and a browser.. I wish this didn't need to be a semi dedicated device but here we are.

You can, at that will cause the same output on the same input if there is no variation in floating point rounding errors. (True if the same code is running but easy when optimizing to hit a round up/down and if the tokens are very close the output will diverge)

The point the people (or llm arguing against llms) miss is the world is not deterministic, humans are not deterministic (at least in a practical way at the human scale). And if a system is you should indeed not use an llm.. Its powere is how it provides answers with messy data.. If you need repeatability make a scripts / code ect.

(Note I do think if the output is for human use it's important a human validate its useful.. The llms can help brainstorm, can with some tests manage a surprising amount of code, but if you don't validate and test the code it will be slop and maybe work for one test but not for a generic user.

I recall getting points taken off in middle/high school if the only source was the world book dictionary.. So either find a book at the library or fire up the family computer hope the phone is free and search the '90s net for some source? (Avoiding the popups/unders) [and be fast as we only had so many mins/mo included]

That is more a fronteir llm thing..

I think quite a bit of what they are trying could with some optimization be run local thus no need to send entire context windows to big tech (sure this hypothetical model would know less trivia but in an agent system would be able to look it up)

But of course big tech and other large orgs like hording all your data for profit.

Remember encyclopedias shouldn't be your primary source.. (And with search engines now worse than the altivista days, and paywalls good research is getting harder these days)

So a few things : 1 - what is art to the viewer, honestly you can hand craft slop and I don't want to see it, here it's the meaning you get the story you the viewer make from it 2 - AI art is bad in two ways in my experience, the story (ie see one) has something critically wrong from the human world, and two most tools today don't listen to the prompt so no matter how much writting is fed in the result is limited. But if you use it as a tool yes it can make some backgrounds and clip art.. The problem is most consumer systems don't have a good way to put this into a proper editor to finalize a meaningful image.. IE put the human story into the final thing.

But the real point isn't you made some clipart with image get or a paragraph in your story it's why it didn't fit in, contradictions it shows and do you the human know how to fix it? Is there tooling you can direct the llm to do better? (For images there really is not it is not good at partial edits in my experience.. Easier to have it generate all parts on their own and layer the final product otherwise something will be wrong)

I don't know how to solve your core problem you are hinting at without society at large realizing many of our problems are the brainwashing of the masses. This problem is why we initially were taught math without calculators in my day, by college they were expected to help with simple math to focus on the more complicated problems.

Here with llms it's important to still write, learn to research something (even more than the don't use encyclopedias as a primary source) learning to read with deep understanding and learning to skim. Learning math and logic is as important as ever.

What I see missing quite a bit in the antiai art world is the importance of creating art to convey your meaning (if AI is a tool involved or not for writing images ect is this thing showing the meaning and nuance you want not just a off the top of your head comment and auto ship the slop output) and the only way you can go no that's not what I want is to have some idea how to make the piece of writing or art yourself even at a high level.

I personally like the tech but see it accelerating the brain drain for those that rely on it too for answers as the learn.

This is how all artists behave.. Very protective of there works and f*** whatever they borrowed in making it..

think Minecraft modders they can mod Minecraft but oh the drama if you mod their mod.. Maybe there is just a line the big frnchise is no longer protected.. But this is not how people debate this issue.

I think there needs to be proof given when you accuse people of ai slop, this is not to say it's not a slop mime of course it is: it's I think people tend to forget why AI slop is not so great: the average person it trained on is not that great.

Now sure if you find a Loading artist with the frames the same we know what it was lifted from vs it just being a mimic of style, sure AI or not we could say it's a bit too close in style to be a independent derivative.

But let's be real you were not going to ever be paid for some off the top random meme the question is should op have bothered posting.. Honestly likely not.

While many sources of fructose naturally and no reason to think they behave differently than HFCS, high fructose corn syrup to my knowledge uses enzymes to convert glucose to fructose to raise the percentage. (And then re-add corn syrup to adjust the fructose/glucose to a desired ratio)

How much healthier a simple syrup (sugar split into a 50% glucose and 50% fructose) vs a 60/40 fructose/glucose HFCS is very debatable..

Really just hates it when you buy something without sugar/HFCS and find it had artificial sweeteners instead.. When I wanted no additional sweeteners. looks at canned fruit in cabinet

To be fair AU means more to me than miles or km in this case.. 168 times further from us than we are to the sun.

But since you want metric ~25.1 terameters.
