I felt a great disturbance in the Force, as if millions of Geocities pages suddenly cried out in terror and were suddenly silenced.

How much of that will be dedicated to buying votes at Eurovision?

[–] Wfh@lemmy.zip 2 points 4 days ago

Wow I completely forgot, you're right. I must atone and give it another spin.

Haha same, especially with 2097. But yeah even the euro version lacks licensed music, which wasn't a thing yet in 1995.

Slight correction here (because I've been obsessed with this game series for the best part of the last 30 years): WipEout only features music from Psygnosis' in house composer Tim Wright aka CoLD SToRAGE. Left Field, the Chemical Brothers and Orbital appear on the official soundtrack CD but not in the game. Its sequels like WipEout 2097 or Wip3out include in-game licensed music from the likes of the Prodigy, FSoL, Propellerheads or Photek.

Is this referring to OSINT investigation techniques? Because OSINT is fucking cool.

That's how you know. The pregnancy test is just for confirmation.

They did. The Honda e was the perfect tiny EV, except for its massive price tag and small-ish range. And of course, in classic Honda fashion, as a promising but flawed attempt didn't succeed immediately, they promptly abandoned the segment instead of capitalizing on acquired knowledge, battery technology advances and price drops. Given how successful the Renault 5 is, I'm pretty sure a 2nd gen e at half the price would have been a massive success.

Of course, being Honda, they changed their mind and came back with a significantly worse SUV.

I think, being "raised" in Québec-French, you have picked up a lot of pronunciations and vocabulary that are unknown in European French, to the point that I'm pretty sure it is one of the few varieties that could be truly considered a dialect.

I've heard some québécois speak "standard" French... they sound distinctly québécois ;)

Ultimate 2 also has TMR joysticks. I love mine.

I'm pretty sure they'll eventually be considering your AI leverage when determining raises, layoffs, etc.

It's already started. Where I work, LLM usage has become the one single metric to judge who's a good and who's a bad software engineer. It's depressing and infuriating. I have very talented people on my team, but their low LLM usage makes them "worthless". Meanwhile some morons who have always been shit engineers are called "champions" because they burn 2000 Claude credits a month.

They always were Linux-friendly. Some hardware choices like the fingerprint reader were directly related to Linux compatibility. Firmware and UEFI updates have always been available on Linux. They sponsor a lot of FOSS projects (some of them unfortunately linked to nazi dipshits, stirring a lot of controversy, but 99% of them are clean).

They may not have explicitely advertised Linux before, but they dropped a lot of hints.

For those who would only want/need to upgrade their Framework 13 Classic input cover to the Pro one for the haptic trackpad, what looks would you choose?

  • Silver for a stealth upgrade, monochrome all the way
  • graphite for that classic XPS13 look, silver on the outside, black on the inside
  • Fuck it I'm doing a full external upgrade, matte black everything

Cut shots look normal. But in the main shots, everything is weird. It looks plasticky, off, like they are AI-generated. It's unsettling and eroding my trust in a content creator i respect and enjoy.

What's going on?

I'm rebuilding a FE-AR La Peppina from the early 70's, and the boiler and piston seem badly corroded.

Am i gonna slowly kill myself if I use it?

Badly corroded boiler

Badly corroded piston

Capitán Denim is a Spanish brand focused on designing and manufacturing jeans, jackets, and denim essentials within Spain. Its collections emphasize everyday wearability, modern fits (slim, relaxed, straight), and accessible pricing — targeting consumers who value locally produced fashion without compromising on style or comfort.

Ireland and Scotland don't count, of course.

My recent faves:

  • Kyrö from Finland: they exclusively make rye whiskies. I already bought 3 of their 4 expressions. My favorite is Wood Smoke. Powerful smoky character from alder-smoked malts, sun dried plums and lots of character.

  • Ninkasi from France: one of the oldest breweries from the Craft Beer Revival started distilling about 5 years ago with a cognac still. Lots of great finishes, my favorite is Manifesto, finished in Pineau des Charentes casks. Massive old wine and must character.

What are yours?

One of the very few Dutch bike manufacturers who still make them in the Netherlands
