All they wanna do is eat your brains. We're at an impasse here. Maybe we should compromise.

It wasn't just that. I used the first party app so the API changes didn't affect me. It was how bad they handled the whole situation that made me lose faith that reddit was going in a good direction. That thread "addressing" the changes and concerns was brutal.

The Echo Mini is pretty good and they've been updating the firmware to add stuff for a while now. My biggest gripes with it would be there is a hard limit of a little over 8000 songs even if there is enough space for more on your SD card. It's something to do with how it indexes the library. It also doesn't really support playlists, although I think the most recent update allows you to play everything within a genre so you could do some shenanigans with that.

There is a slight limitation on what kind of cookware you can use on them. The pots and pans have to be ferromagnetic. Aluminium cookware doesn't work and it looks like stainless can be hit or miss depending on how it's made. It's not a big issue unless most of your cookware doesn't work on it.

The article says they are 120v induction stoves so they don't have to do updates to the electrical. The battery also allows them to work if the power goes out. For how long? Idk.

I can't be too harsh on them. I'm pretty sure I new Sam Reich before his father too. Dropout has been getting popular. They did an episode of Breaking News where Robert got a short snippet to poke fun at his son.

That is in fact Sam Reich's dad. Less importantly, he is also former secretary of labor.

I remember hearing about System76 a while back. They manage Pop!_OS which comes preloaded on their stuff. I don't know much more than that. If you are mainly looking to replace your laptop because you don't want to switch to 11, you could always try out Linux on it with a live USB. Basically you format a thumb drive to act as a boot drive. There are resources online on how to do it and it's pretty simple. It doesn't mess with your current install. If you like it, you can fully install it later.

It's a little more than kind of depressing but Bullet by Hollywood Undead comes to mind.

It's more than just a water level issue. As I understand it, the Amoc is responsable for warmer water cycling up to the coasts of western Europe resulting in warmer temperatures than they would normally get at that latitude. It would change the temperature and weather experienced there. Hank Green did a video talking about how it could potentially affect Ireland about a month ago.

I think that's true for the arts in general. Unless you are both extraordinary talented and are able to get lots of people to recognize that talent it's hard to make a living in the arts. Art is a wonderful thing to be passionate about, and it is an important part of life and society despite how some people tend to downplay its value. It's rarely stable work. There is a reason why there are tropes like the starving artist or actors waiting tables.
