That's such a valid fear! I didn't let her walk outside. I'd put her in a pet backpack for hikes or her carrier for tent teardown and such. There was a couple times when she tried to catch things burrowing under the tent, but I keep her nails nice and short so there was no damage to the tent.

She was so much more chill about it than I expected. I had gotten some of those calming treats with melatonin, but never ended up needing them.

That black and green thing in the background is a portable litter box with a pop-up enclosure. I had her start using it about 3 weeks before the trip, just to minimize the amount of new things for her which I think also helped keep her calm

I took my 16yo cat on a summer-long camping trip this year. She had never been camping before, but she loved it so much! Elderly cat resting in a tent. A sunny blue sky and bright green grass is seen through the tent screens

I had to put all my stuff in storage then move across the country recently. I did not bring my cuckoo rice cooker with me, and damn I didn't realize how spoilled I've gotten. The rice I'm cooking in a cheap one just isn't as good. I think it is over-cooking the rice, but it's actually hard to dial in

I am not for the death penalty in any capacity. However, this woman kept trying to murder people while in prison, although in far less horrific and dramatic ways than she murdered Colleen. I imagine the isolation she experienced on death row had an effect on the murder attempt? She needed to be in a psychiatric hospital

(I thought I had read elsewhere that she had two murder attempts on fellow inmates, one involving a romantic partner, but Wikipedia only has one attempt so I'll leave it at that)

I'm reading more of your comments in your thread, and I really hope your doctor can help you out. Treatment for this can range from having a feeding port installed to therapy. My family member needed both a port and therapy, but is thriving now.

I also do really understand the texture thing, I have both AuDHD and a sensory processing disorder. If I'm severely stressed about anything, I end up living off safe soft food for a few weeks until my stressor has resolved. Because some textures feel less like food that will nourish me, and more like random objects that might cause me health issues if I try to digest them. That rubbery canned meat texture, especially if it's accompanied by a layer of fat at the top of the can... 🤢 Yeah I totally understand that :/

I have a hook on my front door, just above the handle. Hang a bag with the thing I need to bring with me - can't open the door without picking up the bag. The problem with this is that I usually forget to bring the bag back inside with me lol

Have you heard of ARFID? A close family member, as well as my close friend's autistic child have this disorder. Low appetite and the visceral reactions to various food items are common with this disorder

If you're ever wanting to match colors to something in the future, and you're okay with physically going into stores, you can bring the item and ask a sales person to help you. I worked in an accessory store ages ago, but my favorite task customers gave me was building a look around an item.

I love that silhouette on you, and I'm a little jealous of the freedom you gave with wigs :) Grats on your first doses!

I bought a Razor phone in 2005 (or 2006, those two years were a bit of a blur tbh) that did let me go on the internet, but it was very slow and web pages were difficult to navigate.
