No one cares if the firefighters turn a profit. Why tf should we care if the postal service does? These services exist for the public good. This whole concept is completely asinine. Let's stop spending money on bombs and actually fund our public sector.

But no, the "America First" crowd doesn't give the first shit about American services.

republicans passed a law awhile back requiring them to have their retirement funded for like 25 or 30 years out. Way longer than any other requirement and anything in the private sector. This was to make it unprofitable because they want to kill it like most other public things.

Oh shit. WHY would you mention that firefighters may not be turning a profit??? Up next on the chopping block…

It woul d really be a shame if this data center burnt down. For only 500k donation a year, we can make sure that probably won't happen.

“America First” just means they’ll move on to pillaging other countries next.

Because USPS is not funded by taxes. It's entirely funded by providing services for a fee. If they operate in the red, they will fail.

If that's the case why did they create it as a government service? Why didn't Benjamin Franklin just start a nice private corporation to do it? He could have made some money along the way being a shareholder.

The payment into the retirement fund should have never been a thing in the first place.

Absolutely no one except a few select people care if the post office is in red or black. As long as it works, and is a part of the government.

They're trying to privatize it, if they haven't already. I fucking care.

I'm sure it's not, now that it's part of the plot to thwart mail in voting
