#Tech post...

I went down so many rabbit holes today... @zed was failing to code-complete and just seemed to be broken in multiple ways...

After a total removal and reinstall, and some zed.log deep diving, I got it back how I need after 6 hours.

Strong suspicion that some behaviours changed with recent updates though I can't be sure what.

It's still better than the alternatives (Pulsar & VSCodium) but it's damn finicky at times. And code completion performance sucks on an M1 Mac.

The more I'm using @zed the more I'm liking it. I have the AI features disabled, of course, but it was super simple to get my dev environments for Java, Python, C/C++, and even C#. Only thing I'm missing is a way to run my unit tests in the editor as opposed to CLI, but that can wait.

Zed also helped me to resolve a weird issue I was seeing in a Java project that VSCodium said wasn't there.

For my #Rust projects, I’ve finally migrated from #RustRover to @zed.

RR is a great IDE, but it feels much too bloated for me. #Zed, on the other hand, is a pleasure to use. So smooth!

Here’s my current config including a beautiful theme based on monokai-pro https://github.com/0xdea/dotfiles/tree/main/zed/.config/zed

Zed is a truly beautiful code editor, incredibly performant and lots of amazing features. Thank you for the good work @zed

It's interesting to see @zed pivot to multiplayer coding when the whole industry is moving towards AI-enabled 10x productivity and single-person ownership. It will be interesting to see how this works. Maybe on remote teams?

Ok, I'm probably late to the party, but it went completely over my head it seems.
#JetBrains #fleet is no longer maintained: https://blog.jetbrains.com/fleet/2025/12/the-future-of-fleet/

I've been using it as I'm more familiar with the JetBrains SW products, but I guess it is time to switch.

Maybe #zededitor from @zed ?
