The great outdoors

Very green out today.

If you are curious about this topic, I thought it had a nice balance of simplicity and detail

excerpt:

It’s an endurance sport in which athletes ascend mountains on skis fitted with climbing skins, carry their skis over sections too steep to skin and then descend on alpine terrain. In total, 36 skimo athletes will compete at the Stelvio Ski Centre in Bormio.

The Olympic format features two events: the individual sprint and the mixed relay. Athletes alternate between uphill climbing with ski skins, boot-packing and downhill skiing. Sprint races last about three to four minutes, while the mixed relay features longer, more demanding courses.

Alongside skimo, the 2026 Games have introduced women’s doubles luge, women’s large hill individual ski jumping, a freestyle skiing dual moguls event and alpine skiing team combined.

Skimo stands out within the Olympic landscape as the first new sport to be introduced within the Winter Games since skeleton was introduced at the 2002 Salt Lake City Games.

Hey Guys, I’ve been thinking about sleeping outside without a tent, just with a sleeping bag and a bivvy sack. Currently it is arround 0 to -5 degree C in my area. Honestly I haven’t read up on this much and it would be the first time doing something like that apart from some camping in the summer.

Is this a stupid idea? In my mind it’s fine as long as my sleeping bag supports low temperatures right? Or am I missing something big regarding safety? Appreciate your thoughts, tips and maybe sources to read up more about this!

Well looking towards it anyways, photo is probably from grant narrows as I was crossing

tl;dw: among other issues, the network doesn't appear to store messages until they're confirmed to arrive, so it's very possible to miss incoming messages with no indication to either party

Thank you, Irish friend for introducing me to it!

After years of dealing with drafty frames, constant caulking, and outside noise creeping in, I finally started looking into real, long-term window solutions. That’s when I discovered german windows—and wow, there’s a reason they’re taking over the high-performance building market.

These windows aren’t just about sleek European aesthetics (though they definitely look amazing). They’re built for serious performance: • Airtight sealing that actually holds up over time • Superior sound insulation — city noise? What city noise? • Energy savings that show up on your utility bill • And durable hardware that feels solid, not flimsy

It’s not hype—it’s smart engineering. If you’ve installed them already, drop a comment and share your experience. I’ll share mine too once the install’s done!
