DHS claimed Sosa-Celis was driving the car and he, Aljorna and another man assaulted the agent before the agent fired his weapon.

The first inkling of the government questioning the DHS account came from the US Department of Justice. In a January 16 court filing supporting criminal charges against the two men, the DOJ asserted Aljorna was the one driving the vehicle.

In a stunning reversal, the Justice Department on Thursday filed a motion seeking to drop criminal charges against the two Venezuelan men. In it, the DOJ said federal prosecutors provided incorrect information to the court, while ICE issued a statement admitting its federal agents made “false statements” under oath.

Yeah, so this is my letter to the Oregonian after I attended a Labor Against ICE rally in Portland, a couple of blocks from my own apartment actually. Speeches from folks in labor, then we walked down to the ICE building.

Guy on the PA said expect tear gas so I got ready to move. They usually shoot a few pepperballs and if that doesn't move people they'll drop one or two gas grenades, maybe a flashbang. So I was getting ready to get the hell out of there when they did that. But that ain't what they did though, they gassed the neighborhood like 3 blocks in multiple directions.

Wasn't there Sunday but they did it again, even worse. Folks at the senior care building six blocks away across from the hospital's clinics were gassed in their apartment. So was I, but I thought I just did a bad job washing everything at the time. Someone who was there both days said they counted 41 tear gas and 18 flashbang grenades total, and who knows how many pepperballs and rubber bullets fired.

Because a few people trespassed Saturday. And a couple shook the gate Sunday.

Oh, that gas mask? I'm a legally blind insulin-dependent diabetic albino with asthma and I'm on chemo for my stage 4 melanoma. The medic told me I really should have something called "PAPR" but … that ain't happening. At least a full-face respirator then with 3M 60926 magenta with olive stripe filters or similar NIOSH-approved. Not green or yellow. One person had a mask with a diaphragm to make speech clear through the mask. That and a couple filters is getting on toward $200 which is like 1/5 of my disability before rent, utilities, food, etc.

But fuck these nazis! If I need this inside my own apartment, I'll be back out there helping people two at a time, because I can.

A Minnesota police chief has been forced to intervene to stop the illegal abduction of a woman from her car by ICE goons.

Dramatic dashcam footage shows the moment three unidentified, masked men swerved to cut off a female driver alone in her car, forcing her to stop. The men then jumped out of their unmarked, unlit vehicle and immediately drew their weapons, while yelling at her to get out of the car.

The officers do not read the woman her Miranda rights, nor do they identify themselves, as they drag her from the car, pin her down, and handcuff her.

Jack Vu and Abby Manuel had been part of a volunteer program teaching weekly computer and Spanish classes to kids in Houston’s East End for more than a year, when one day the kids stopped showing up.

Masked federal immigration officers had been making their presence felt in the Lawndale-Wayside neighborhoods, Vu said, prompting families to shelter inside. “We were reading books, throwing the football with the kids, we knew their names, and they knew our names, and it was the fear that was keeping them away,” he said.

The experience motivated the two Rice University students to create a digital map documenting U.S. Immigration Customs Agency activity, and awareness around their project has been growing since it went live in June.

“People didn’t understand what was happening in their community, they couldn’t find any information, so we wanted to fill that void,” Manuel said.
