I have a human child that has created a rather awesome Minecraft world.

Now there are several reasons why it would be good to start using something based on Luanti.
However, the world they have been creating is something we would really not want to miss, even though it's not even one year old.

They are playing in creative mode, and we agreed that it's enough if all of the terrain near the home house, the house itself, plus the tunnels dug into that terrain would be preserved. We are able to rebuild all the minetracks and doors and windows and place new animals, if needed. But at least a skeleton of their world would be important to preserve.

So, is there a way to convert our Minecraft world to something playable on Luanti? And what game running on Luanti would you people recommend for us to use for this purpose?

And secondarily, if we need to just start from scratch, which Luanti-game would be best for a young child wanting to play more or less akin to how you play Minecraft in creative mode? Being able to place objects freely while flying freely, and beig able to populate the world with animals – at least cats and/or dogs – would be very important for them, but almost anything else can be whatever it is. It does not need to be the same as Minecraft, it just needs to be able to approximately fulfill the same purpose for a human child.

I'm running this on Ubuntu and if any Windows or Mac based software should be needed, I do know people who can let me temporarily use their computer for that. But the actual playing will happen on Ubuntu.

Your goal is to loot all treasures of the known world. To win a level, you must find all gold blocks in it.

You can walk around the level freely and take, place and rotate blocks. Mirrors, bombs, color mixers, skulls and many other special blocks assist (or hinder) you in your task. Use your wits to activate detectors, pull levers, ignite bombs and barricades to eventually break all the locks and take all the gold.

Hello,

I don't like how many items/blocks were added to Minecraft. It removes what made Minecraft so special–its simplicity.

Are there any Luanti games that replicate that feeling? "Minetest Game" doesn't have any mobs, and has weird controls. VoxeLibre has too many items.

You could probably fix that with mods or... you know just not using the items i don't wanna use. :) I still wanted to ask here though maybe somebody uses exactly that. I did found an empty server that was running something, that looked a lot like Minecraft Alpha, but I couldn't find what game they have used.

Hi everyone!

I've been enjoying playing Luanti (formerly Minetest), so I decided to create my own server to play and chat with friends, use downloaded mods, and generally enjoy the process, like in Minecraft. However, I'm having a hard time setting up the server.

I tested programs such as Hamachi, playit.gg, and FreeDNS Update, but they didn't work. I also don't know how or where to create a domain for my server. When I started the server, an error message appeared that said, "Connection timeout has expired."

I have a Windows 11 laptop with good RAM and a hotspot on an Android tablet.

If anyone knows the solution, please let me know.

Thanks for reading!

Big news on our Luanti server, AES!

Take part in the beta, level up your weapons and reach the level cap (18) in order to obtain the "BL Betatester" title. Beware: progress will be reset once the beta ends

It took me ~3 years to plan this whole thing, I'm super happy this is finally happening 🥺❤️

Extra Ordinance is a topdown wave shooter where you play as the mech shown in the image with a few different weapons to switch between, as well as a dash that smashes through tunnel walls.

Camera's rough, but all things considering it's a pretty fun little game. Friendly heads up, this may not run well on less powerful hardware, PC or mobile.

Everness

Saw a video the other day of someone exploring the biomes from this, and the crystal forest biome is a cool sight. The sunlight refracts through the crystal tree leaves like a prism in a really cool touch.
