Apparently, Robert F. Kennedy Jr.’s very normal public health response is too much for the MAHA crowd.

Robert F. Kennedy Jr. is facing fire from his own people.

The U.S. health secretary has angered anti-vax activists by extending liability protections to drugmakers working on a hantavirus vaccine.

Kennedy signed a Public Readiness and Emergency Preparedness, or PREP, Act declaration late last week, giving pharmaceutical companies additional legal coverage as they work on experimental treatments—such as favipiravir—during the public health crisis.

An advocacy group has filed suit against the Trump administration over its decision to reinstate a near-ban on abortions for veterans and their family members who depend on the U.S. Department of Veterans Affairs for healthcare.

The federal lawsuit filed Thursday says the rule finalized by the VA on Dec. 31 takes away limited abortion access that was "crucial for the health, autonomy, and equality of veterans and their family members."

Attorneys for the group Minority Veterans of America want the U.S. Court of Appeals for the Federal Circuit to throw out the rule. They say the VA adopted the change without citing medical evidence or other justifications, violating the Administrative Procedures Act that governs federal rulemaking.

Senior officials in the Food and Drug Administration’s tobacco center were blindsided by a recent decision that opens the door to allowing more unauthorized electronic cigarettes and nicotine pouches onto the U.S. market, The Associated Press has learned.

The guidelines, posted days before former FDA Commissioner Marty Makary resigned, will allow companies to launch certain nicotine-based products before they’ve been fully vetted by regulators.

Some FDA officials tasked with enforcing vaping regulations were not consulted on the changes and only learned of them the night before the document was published earlier this month, according to two staffers who spoke to the AP on condition of anonymity to discuss confidential agency matters. The document’s sudden appearance sparked internal confusion about how the policy came about and who authorized it, the staffers said.

It’s unbelievable that they have decided to take such a step backward. Before the therapy, the constant fear of an allergic reaction had dominated daily life (snacks from the school cafeteria, field trips, children’s birthday parties, etc.). Now the only option left is to replicate the therapy on one’s own responsibility, or to have it replicated in collaboration with a reputable clinic.

https://allergyasthmanetwork.org/news/palforzia-discontinued/

Palforzia is the only oral immunotherapy (OIT) for food allergy approved by the U.S. Food and Drug Administration. It treats peanut allergy in children ages 1 through 17. The notice on Stallergenes Greer’s Palforzia website reads: “This voluntary discontinuation is not related to product safety, quality, or efficacy.” Palforzia earned FDA approval in 2020. It was originally developed by Aimmune. Nestle Health Science bought Aimmune and then sold Palforzia to Stallergenes Greer.

Duration - 23:36 [a video about Cuba from the news collective Belly Of The Beast]

When her mother was diagnosed with Alzheimer’s, Cuban scientist Teresita Rodríguez set out to find a way to help her. At the time, her colleagues at Cuba’s Center for Molecular Immunology, were developing a medication for neurodegenerative diseases, so she joined them. Teresita's Dream follows the journey she took and how one daughter’s love might change the way we treat Alzheimer’s around the world.

Set in the heart of Havana against the backdrop of Cuba’s world-class biotech sector and the relentless challenges posed by intensifying U.S. sanctions, this documentary is a powerful story of scientific innovation, love, hope and resilience.

Teresita’s Dream is not just a film. It is a call to reimagine global health and to stand in solidarity with those pushing for solutions against the odds.

Teresita’s Dream is produced by Belly of the Beast, a groundbreaking U.S.-based media outlet that tells Cuba’s untold stories through hard-hitting journalism and stunning cinematography.

EPA outlines effort to kill Biden-era rules as critics condemn RFK Jr and Lee Zeldin’s ‘hocus pocus’

The Trump administration has announced a plan to kill Biden-era drinking water limits on four Pfas “forever chemicals”, and to delay the implementation of standards for two other compounds.

The Environmental Protection Agency is proposing two separate rules to delay and rescind the limits. The rules must go through an approval process that can take several years, and almost certainly will be challenged in court.

The Trump administration’s plan comes just two years after the US Environmental Protection Agency set legally enforceable drinking water limits for six of the most dangerous Pfas compounds that have been studied. The chemicals include some of the most toxic substances, and are linked to a range of cancers and other serious health problems.

At least 80 deaths have been reported in Congo’s new Ebola disease outbreak in the eastern Ituri province, authorities said, as health workers raced Saturday to intensify screening and contact tracing to contain the disease. Officials first announced the outbreak on Friday, with 65 deaths and 246 suspected cases.

Meanwhile, Associated Press journalists in Ituri’s capital, Bunia, interviewed locals who recounted their fears and constant burials.

“Every day, people are dying ... and this has been going on for about a week. In a single day, we bury two, three, or even more people,” said Jean Marc Asimwe, a resident of Bunia. “At this point, we don’t really know what kind of disease it is,” said Asimwe.

Anyways basically my Mothers Life Style is very much "Normal Woman 50+ Life Style" itd say >.>

She does do Sports a few Times a Month mostly Aqua Gym and walking with the Dogs obviously with my Dad but she forgets A LOT of Stuff

I am obviously not an Expert on Dimentia but arent those atleast somewhat eraly Signs? >.>

For Example my Mom is also someone who outside of that usually goes every Weekend drinking a Beer and Partying which is like whatever but now she drinks a Beer usually every Day because "it calms her down" which is from what ive read also not Good :(

Another Issue is also that outside of the Few Times she does Sports and Parties and Walks the Dog and Cleans the House(Dishes that she also watches TV all Day which like im not trying to frame People of course like that >.>
But it just feels something off to me in that COmbo of Drinking Beer all Day and Watching TV all Day that its not get for preventing Dementia or Alzheimers :(

My Mom also used to be a Heavy Smoker but quit like 2 Years AGo iirc >.>
But yea overall i wouldnt say im trying to Frame her in such a Light but im just wondering what other Internet People maybe have to say about these Symptoms who maybe even have someone in their Family with ALzheimers :(
Afterall i can do is Read Online Articles and Books about it :(

I am mostly wondering about this because i am very Scared of it myself :(
I am just 22 turning 23 Years Old this Year and combined with my Autism and other Health Issues which ive read can gurantee Alzheimers/Demntia even it scares me a lot :(

I did loose Weight now due to my Healthier Eating Habits and write Code here and there but i wouldnt really say i do Sports much or "learn new SKills" :(

After more than a decade of global consultation, polycystic ovary syndrome (PCOS) -- a condition that affects one in eight women -- has been renamed.

The hormonal disorder, estimated to impact 170 million women worldwide, will now be known as polyendocrine metabolic ovarian syndrome (PMOS).

The name change was published in the Lancetand announced at the European Congress of Endocrinology in Prague on Tuesday, after 14 years of collaboration between international societies and patient groups across six continents.

The renaming was spearheaded by the endocrinologist Prof Helena Teede, the director of Melbourne’s Monash Centre for Health Research & Implementation. For too long, experts including Teede say, the misleading nature of the term “polycystic” in PCOS contributed to delayed diagnosis and inadequate medical care.

Food and Drug Administration commissioner’s decisions have hurt staff morale and put his job in crosshairs

Donald Trump has signed off on a plan to fire Marty Makary, the commissioner of the US Food and Drug Administration (FDA), the Wall Street Journal reported on Friday, after a series of high-profile agency decisions put the FDA head in the crosshairs of the White House and Republican lawmakers.

Makary’s tenure at the FDA has been marked by several controversial decisions on drugs and vaccines amid plummeting staff morale over layoffs and the appointments of divisive officials.

Recent political clashes include abortion, drugs and vaping, but decisions to pull back publications on the safety of shingles and Covid vaccines, among other immunization decisions, have also rocked public health. There have also been concerns about the transition from two clinical trials to one, the commissioner’s new priority review vouchers and “data-free” regulatory decisions.
